Mercedes-AMG’s Electric Supercar Has Me Seriously Excited — Here’s Why

Mercedes-Benz Vision One-Eleven is the newest AMG concept supercar that was just announced, and to no surprise to anyone, it’s all-electric.
Ok, even though I don’t see the appeal of electric supercars, at least it’s going to be fast. How fast? Well, apparently the fastest AMG ever produced. That’s how fast. Sounds good enough to me.
As a car enthusiast, I’ve seen plenty of automakers jumping on the electric bandwagon, but few announcements get my heart racing quite like Mercedes-AMG teasing a new electric supercar.
This isn’t just another EV as I’ve said; AMG promises it’ll be their quickest-accelerating model ever. This is a bit incredible to believe considering their past releases with monster figures.

So considering AMG’s incredible lineup, that’s saying something huge. Details are still sparse but so far we know it’s going to be powered by a YASA axial-flux electric motor, which some suggest it can produce about 1,300 HP. AMG shared a couple of images of their concept that looks just bonkers with an aggressive design, wide stance, and striking LED lighting—a classic AMG recipe.
Knowing their history, I expect groundbreaking technology, ultra-powerful electric motors, and jaw-dropping acceleration figures. What excites me most is how this car could redefine what we expect from AMG performance, even though sadly I’ll miss that glorious V8 or V12 sound that their cars used to have in the past.
Speaking of the past, the AMG Vision One-Eleven is a homage to the futuristic and iconic-looking Mercedes-Benz C 111 of the 1970s.
Now listen, if you know me, you know that I’m a BMW fanboy, and there’s no upgrade to a BMW other than a Porsche (maybe). The first CLS AMG was so gangster-looking and ahead of it’s time that I even ignored the weird headlights that the first CLS generation had.
So I’ve always loved AMG’s roaring engines, but embracing electrification means instant torque, blistering acceleration, and a completely new driving experience.
It’s thrilling to imagine AMG’s legendary handling and precision (I hope that’s still there, with all the extra weight from the batteries) paired with the immediacy of electric propulsion. I’m eagerly awaiting more details and, hopefully, a glimpse of this supercar in action.
Mercedes-AMG, you’ve officially piqued my curiosity—now bring it on!
